A quick and easy 20-minute appetizer featuring creamy, spicy buffalo chicken dip with a fun spider web design on top. Perfect for Halloween parties, game day, or any gathering where you want to impress guests with minimal effort.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup buffalo wing sauce (like Frank’s RedHot)
  • 2 cups cooked, shredded chicken (rotisserie chicken works great)
  • 1/2 cup ranch dressing (or blue cheese)
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (sharp cheddar recommended)
  • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup sour cream (for the spider web topping)
  • 12 black olives, sliced (for garnish, optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375Β°F (190Β°C). Lightly grease an 8×8 or 9×9 inch baking dish.
  2. Soften cream cheese to room temperature (microwave on low power for 15-20 seconds if needed).
  3. In a large bowl, combine softened cream cheese, 1/2 cup sour cream, buffalo wing sauce, ranch dressing, cheddar cheese, and mozzarella cheese. Mix until smooth and well combined.
  4. Fold in shredded chicken until evenly distributed.
  5. Spread mixture evenly into prepared baking dish. Bake for 15-18 minutes, until hot and bubbly around the edges.
  6. While dip bakes, prepare spider web topping: place remaining 1/4 cup sour cream in a squeeze bottle or zip-top bag with a tiny corner snipped off.
  7. Once dip is out of oven, quickly squeeze concentric circles of sour cream starting from the center outward (about 4-5 circles).
  8. Using a toothpick or knife tip, drag from the center circle outward through all circles, repeating around the dip to create a spider web pattern.
  9. Place sliced black olives in the center to resemble a spider (optional). Serve immediately while hot.

Notes

For best texture, use full-fat cream cheese. If sour cream is too thin for the web, mix with a bit of cream cheese to thicken. Don’t over-bake to avoid graininess. The dip can be prepared ahead (without web) up to 24 hours in advance. Leftovers keep in the fridge for up to 3 days; reheat in oven at 350Β°F for 10-15 minutes.
