A simple and refreshing blueberry mojito with fresh mint, perfect for summer gatherings. This cocktail combines fresh blueberries, mint, lime, rum, and club soda for a lively and satisfying drink.

Ingredients

Scale
  • Β½ cup fresh blueberries (about 75 g)
  • 1012 fresh mint leaves
  • 1 large lime, juiced (about 2 tablespoons or 30 ml)
  • 2 oz white rum (60 ml)
  • 1 tbsp simple syrup (15 ml)
  • 46 oz club soda (120180 ml)
  • Ice cubes
  • Optional: fresh blueberries and mint sprigs for garnish

Instructions

  1. Rinse about Β½ cup (75 g) of fresh blueberries and set aside. Pluck 10-12 fresh mint leaves from their stems and rinse gently. Juice one large lime (about 2 tablespoons or 30 ml) using a citrus juicer, discarding any seeds.
  2. In your glass, add the blueberries and mint leaves. Using a muddler or the back of a wooden spoon, gently press down and twist to release the mint oils and crush the berries without pulverizing them, about 30 seconds.
  3. Pour in the freshly squeezed lime juice and 1 tablespoon (15 ml) of simple syrup. Stir gently to combine.
  4. Measure 2 oz (60 ml) of white rum and add it to the glass. Stir again to mix everything evenly. For a lighter drink, reduce rum to 1.5 oz (45 ml).
  5. Fill the glass with ice cubes to the top.
  6. Pour 4-6 oz (120-180 ml) of club soda over the ice and give one gentle stir to blend.
  7. Garnish with a sprig of fresh mint and a few whole blueberries. Optionally, rim the glass with a lime wedge.

Notes

Be gentle when muddling mint to avoid bitterness. Adjust simple syrup to taste if the drink is too tart. Chill the glass beforehand for a colder drink. For a mocktail, omit rum and add extra club soda and lime juice.
