A simple yet elegant red, white, and blue charcuterie board perfect for summer gatherings and easy entertaining, featuring a balanced mix of cheeses, meats, fruits, and crunchy accompaniments.

Ingredients

  • Smoked gouda, sliced
  • Fresh mozzarella balls
  • Sharp white cheddar, cubed
  • Thinly sliced prosciutto
  • Spicy Genoa salami
  • Honey-glazed ham bites
  • Fresh strawberries, hulled and halved
  • Blueberries, washed and dried
  • Cherry tomatoes (optional)
  • Crisp cucumber slices
  • Water crackers or baguette slices
  • Honey-roasted almonds or candied pecans
  • Blue corn tortilla chips
  • Herb whipped cream cheese (cream cheese blended with chopped fresh dill and chives)
  • Fig jam or honey
  • Fresh mint leaves
  • Edible flowers (optional)

Instructions

  1. Slice the smoked gouda into thin wedges about 1/4 inch thick.
  2. Cube the sharp cheddar into bite-sized pieces about 1 inch.
  3. Drain and pat dry the fresh mozzarella balls to avoid watery spots.
  4. Fold prosciutto slices into loose ribbons and place in small piles.
  5. Roll Genoa salami slices into tight spirals for visual appeal.
  6. Cut honey-glazed ham into bite-sized chunks and keep meats separate.
  7. Rinse strawberries and blueberries gently; hull and halve strawberries.
  8. Slice cucumbers thinly (about 1/8 inch) and halve cherry tomatoes if using; pat dry.
  9. Place water crackers or baguette slices in small stacks or spread evenly.
  10. Add honey-roasted almonds or candied pecans in small bowls or scatter lightly.
  11. Mix herb whipped cream cheese by combining 4 ounces softened cream cheese with 1 tablespoon chopped fresh dill and 1 tablespoon chopped chives; whip until smooth and fluffy.
  12. Assemble the board by spacing cheeses evenly, adding small bowls of cream cheese dip and fig jam near cheeses, arranging folded meats around cheeses, clustering strawberries and blueberries for color, filling gaps with crackers, nuts, and cucumber slices, and garnishing with fresh mint leaves and edible flowers if desired.
  13. Fill any empty spaces with extra berries or nuts to create balance without overcrowding.
  14. Keep cold ingredients chilled until just before serving.

Notes

Keep cold ingredients chilled until just before serving to maintain freshness. Assemble fruits last to prevent them from losing their bright color and juiciness. For gluten-free options, use almond or rice crackers and dairy-free cream cheese alternatives. Avoid overcrowding the board to allow easy picking and visual appeal. Use a slightly warmed knife to slice soft cheeses smoothly.
