Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 pounds (900 g) fresh strawberries, ripe and firm with stems on
  • 12 oz (340 g) semi-sweet or dark chocolate chips or chopped bars
  • 4 oz (115 g) white chocolate (optional, for drizzling)
  • Wax or parchment paper for setting dipped strawberries
  • Wooden skewers or floral stems for assembling the bouquet
  • 1 cup (120 g) assorted nuts (almonds, pistachios, or pecans)
  • 6 oz (170 g) cheese cubes (like brie or cream cheese)
  • 1 cup (120 g) crackers or biscotti
  • Fresh mint leaves for garnish (optional)
  • Optional toppings: chopped nuts, shredded coconut, sea salt flakes

Instructions

  1. Wash and dry strawberries thoroughly, ensuring they are completely dry to prevent chocolate from seizing (about 10 minutes).
  2. Melt the semi-sweet chocolate using a double boiler or heatproof bowl over simmering water, stirring gently until smooth (5-7 minutes). Alternatively, microwave in 30-second bursts, stirring in between.
  3. Dip each strawberry by the stem into the melted chocolate, twisting slightly to coat evenly. Let excess drip off and place on parchment-lined baking sheet. For variety, dip some strawberries halfway or drizzle with white chocolate.
  4. While chocolate is still wet, sprinkle optional toppings like chopped nuts, shredded coconut, or sea salt flakes on some berries.
  5. Chill the dipped strawberries in the refrigerator for 15-20 minutes to set the chocolate firmly.
  6. Melt white chocolate and drizzle over cooled strawberries for decoration, if desired.
  7. Skewer each set chocolate-covered strawberry onto wooden sticks or floral stems and arrange tightly to resemble a flower bouquet. Secure with floral tape if desired.
  8. On a large serving board or platter, arrange the strawberry bouquet in the center and surround with cheese cubes, assorted nuts, crackers, and fresh mint leaves.
  9. Add any extra garnishes such as edible flowers or a drizzle of honey over the cheese before serving.

Notes

Ensure strawberries are completely dry before dipping to prevent chocolate from seizing. Use low heat when melting chocolate and stir often. Add a teaspoon of coconut or vegetable oil if chocolate thickens. Do not overcrowd strawberries on the baking sheet. Assemble bouquet shortly before serving for best freshness. Store leftovers in a single layer in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
