These adorable mummy pigs in a blanket are wrapped in flaky crescent dough and served with a sweet and tangy honey mustard dip. Perfect for Halloween, parties, or any fun family meal, they come together in under 25 minutes with simple ingredients.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 can (8 ounces) refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • 8 hot dogs
  • 24 candy eyes
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 3 tablespoons honey
  • 2 tablespoons yellow mustard
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375Β°F (190Β°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside.
  2. Prepare the crescent roll dough: Open the can and unroll the dough onto a clean cutting board. If using perforated dough, gently press the seams together to create one solid sheet. Using a pizza cutter or sharp knife, cut the dough lengthwise into 8 thin strips, each about 1/2 inch wide.
  3. Wrap the hot dogs: Take one strip of dough and wrap it around a hot dog, starting at one end and working to the other, leaving a small gap near the top for the face. The dough should overlap slightly. Place seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet. Repeat with remaining hot dogs and dough strips.
  4. Make the egg wash: In a small bowl, whisk together the egg and water until well combined. Using a pastry brush, gently brush each mummy with the egg wash.
  5. Bake the mummies: Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the dough is golden brown and the hot dogs are heated through.
  6. Add the eyes: Remove from the oven and let cool for 2-3 minutes. While still warm, press two candy eyes onto the exposed hot dog area at the top of each mummy.
  7. Make the honey mustard dip: In a medium bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, honey, yellow mustard, Dijon mustard, garlic powder (if using), and a pinch of salt. Taste and adjust as desired.
  8. Serve and enjoy: Arrange the mummies on a platter with the honey mustard dip in a small bowl in the center. Serve warm.

Notes

For best results, use standard-sized hot dogs. If you don’t have candy eyes, use small dots of mustard or ketchup. Assemble mummies (without egg wash) up to 4 hours ahead and refrigerate; add egg wash just before baking. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat in a 350Β°F oven for 5-7 minutes.
