These bite-sized caramel apple treats combine crisp apples, buttery caramel, and a crunchy toffee coating, perfect for baby showers and easy to make in under 30 minutes.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 medium-sized crisp apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp recommended)
  • 1 cup (240 ml) store-bought caramel sauce or homemade caramel
  • Β½ cup (about 50g) crushed toffee pieces (Heath or Skor bars recommended)
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter, melted
  • A pinch of sea salt (optional)
  • Wooden toothpicks or mini skewers for serving

Instructions

  1. Wash and dry 4 medium-sized apples thoroughly. Peel if desired, core, and cut into 1 to 1.5 inch bite-sized chunks. Place on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  2. Insert a wooden toothpick or mini skewer into each apple bite for easy handling.
  3. In a microwave-safe bowl, combine 1 cup caramel sauce with 1 tablespoon melted unsalted butter. Microwave in 20-second bursts, stirring until smooth and pourable, or melt on stovetop over low heat for about 3 minutes.
  4. Dip each apple bite into the warm caramel, coating evenly. Let excess caramel drip back into the bowl. Reheat caramel if it thickens.
  5. Immediately sprinkle or roll the caramel-coated apple bite in Β½ cup crushed toffee bits. Place back on the parchment-lined tray. Optionally, sprinkle a pinch of sea salt on top.
  6. Chill the tray in the refrigerator for about 20 minutes to let the caramel set.
  7. Arrange the caramel apple bites on a serving platter and enjoy.

Notes

Keep apple pieces dry before dipping to help caramel stick. Work quickly as caramel hardens fast. Chill bites to set caramel and avoid sticky mess. For dairy-free, use coconut milk caramel and check toffee ingredients. Store in airtight container in fridge up to 3 days or freeze.
