A quick and easy refreshing summer drink combining the natural sweetness of melon with crisp cucumber and a hint of lime for brightness. Perfect for hot days and gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 large English cucumber, peeled and chopped
  • 2 cups honeydew melon or cantaloupe, seeded and cubed
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lime juice (about 1 lime)
  • 3 cups cold filtered water
  • 12 tablespoons agave syrup, honey, or sugar (optional, to taste)
  • Ice cubes (optional, for serving)

Instructions

  1. Peel and chop 1 large English cucumber into chunks. Cube 2 cups of honeydew or cantaloupe melon, removing all seeds.
  2. Add the cucumber and melon chunks to a blender. Pour in 3 cups (720 ml) of cold filtered water. Blend on high speed for about 45-60 seconds until smooth.
  3. Pour the blended mixture through a fine mesh strainer or cheesecloth into a large bowl or pitcher, pressing gently to extract as much liquid as possible. Skip this step if you prefer pulp.
  4. Stir in 2 tablespoons (30 ml) of freshly squeezed lime juice. Taste and add 1-2 tablespoons (15-30 ml) of sweetener gradually if desired, stirring well after each addition.
  5. Transfer the drink to a pitcher, add ice cubes as desired, and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving. Garnish with cucumber slices or lime wedges if desired.

Notes

Use ripe melon for best flavor. Straining is optional depending on texture preference. Keep blending short to avoid warming the drink. Add ice only when serving to avoid dilution. Lime juice is essential for brightness. Sweetener is optional and can be adjusted to taste.
