These adorable no-bake treats combine juicy clementines with rich chocolate and pretzel stems to create tiny jack-o-lanterns. Perfect for Halloween parties, they come together in minutes with simple ingredients.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1215 clementines or mandarin oranges
  • 1 cup chocolate melting wafers or chocolate chips (dark or milk)
  • 1215 pretzel sticks
  • Candy eyeballs (optional)
  • Black frosting or writing gel
  • Green candy melts (optional, for leaves)
  • Edible glitter (optional)
  • Mini chocolate chips (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prep the Clementines (5 minutes): Peel all clementines carefully, keeping segments intact. Pat each dry with a paper towel. Set on a paper towel-lined plate to air dry.
  2. Melt the Chocolate (2-3 minutes): Place chocolate wafers or chips in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring between each, until completely smooth. Add 1 teaspoon coconut oil if needed.
  3. Attach the Pretzel Stems (1 minute per treat): Break pretzel sticks to about 1 inch long. Dip one end into melted chocolate, press into top center of a clementine, hold for 10 seconds. Place on parchment-lined baking sheet. Repeat for all.
  4. Dip the Bottoms (2-3 minutes per batch): Once stems are set (about 5 minutes), hold each clementine by the stem and dip bottom third into melted chocolate. Let excess drip off, place back on parchment. Press flat if needed.
  5. Let the Chocolate Set (15-20 minutes): Refrigerate baking sheet for 15 minutes until chocolate is firm.
  6. Draw the Faces (2-3 minutes per treat): Use black writing gel or frosting to draw jack-o-lantern faces. Attach candy eyeballs with a dab of frosting if using.
  7. Add Finishing Touches (optional, 5 minutes): Pipe green leaves onto parchment, let set, attach to stems with chocolate.
  8. Final Set (10 minutes): Refrigerate another 10 minutes to harden frosting.

Notes

Moisture is the enemy—ensure clementines are completely dry before dipping. Work in batches of 4-5 clementines. Keep chocolate warm by setting bowl in shallow pan of hot water. Add faces no more than 24 hours before serving for best appearance.
