These Easy No-Bake Football Oreo Truffles are the ultimate game day dessert, combining crunchy Oreo crumbs, creamy cheesecake-like center, and smooth chocolate coating. Perfect for Super Bowl parties, tailgates, or any football-watching gathering, they’re quick to make and always a crowd-pleaser.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 (14.3 oz) package Oreo cookies (regular, not double-stuf)
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened to room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 12 oz dark chocolate melting wafers (e.g., Ghirardelli)
  • 2 oz white chocolate melting wafers
  • 1 teaspoon vegetable oil or coconut oil (optional, for glossy finish)

Instructions

  1. Crush the Oreos: Place the entire package of Oreos (filling included) into a food processor. Pulse until you have a fine, sand-like crumb, about 10-15 seconds.
  2. Soften the Cream Cheese: In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese with an electric mixer on medium speed until completely smooth and lump-free, about 1-2 minutes. Scrape down the sides of the bowl once or twice.
  3. Combine the Mixture: Add the Oreo crumbs and vanilla extract to the cream cheese. Mix on low speed until fully incorporated. The mixture should look like a thick, dark dough, slightly sticky but holding together when pressed.
  4. Shape the Truffles: Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Using a small cookie scoop or tablespoon, portion out the mixture. Roll each portion into a ball, then gently shape into an oval to mimic a football. Place on the prepared baking sheet. You should get about 24 truffles.
  5. Chill the Truffles: Place the baking sheet in the refrigerator and chill the truffles for at least 1 hour, or up to 2 hours, until firm.
  6. Melt the Chocolate: While the truffles are chilling, place the dark chocolate melting wafers in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring well after each, until completely smooth and melted. If using oil, stir it in now.
  7. Dip the Truffles: Remove the chilled truffles from the fridge. Working with one truffle at a time, use a toothpick or fork to dip it into the melted chocolate. Gently tap the fork on the edge of the bowl to let excess chocolate drip off. Place the dipped truffle back on the parchment paper. Repeat with all truffles.
  8. Add the Laces: While the chocolate coating is still wet, melt the white chocolate wafers in a separate bowl using the same microwave method. Transfer the melted white chocolate to a small piping bag or ziploc bag with the tip snipped off. Pipe small lines across the top of each truffle to create the football laces.
  9. Final Chill: Return the decorated truffles to the refrigerator for another 15-20 minutes to let the chocolate set completely. Once set, they’re ready to serve.

Notes

Chill the shaped truffles thoroughly before dipping to prevent them from falling apart. If the mixture is too sticky, chill it for 15-20 minutes. For a gluten-free version, use gluten-free chocolate sandwich cookies. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 1 week, or freeze for up to 2 months.
