These Crispy Bacon-Wrapped Jalapeño Popper Bites are the perfect appetizer: spicy, creamy, smoky, and salty all at once. Made with simple ingredients like cream cheese, bacon, and fresh jalapeños, they come together in about 35 minutes and are always a crowd-pleaser.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 810 fresh jalapeños, medium-sized
  • 8 ounces block cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1012 slices bacon, regular-cut
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • Optional: Ranch dressing for dipping

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper or foil, and place a wire rack on top if available.
  2. Wash and dry the jalapeños. Slice each in half lengthwise and scrape out the seeds and membranes with a small spoon. Wear gloves or wash hands immediately after handling.
  3. In a small bowl, combine softened cream cheese, shredded cheddar, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix until smooth.
  4. Fill each jalapeño half with the cream cheese mixture, keeping it level with the cut edge.
  5. Cut each bacon slice in half crosswise. Wrap one half-slice around each filled jalapeño, spiraling from one end to the other. Secure the end with a toothpick (soaked in water for 10 minutes to prevent burning).
  6. Arrange the wrapped jalapeños on the wire rack or directly on the parchment paper, spacing them about an inch apart.
  7. Bake for 20-25 minutes, until the bacon is golden brown and crispy and the filling is bubbling. If needed, broil for the last 1-2 minutes for extra crispiness.
  8. Let cool on the baking sheet for about 5 minutes. Remove toothpicks before serving, or leave them in for easy grabbing.

Notes

For a milder version, remove all seeds and membranes. For extra heat, leave some seeds in. Soak toothpicks in water for 10 minutes to prevent burning. Use regular-cut bacon for best results. If using an air fryer, cook at 375°F for 12-15 minutes, flipping halfway.
