A quick and easy Halloween trail mix made with just 5 simple pantry ingredients. Perfect for parties, trick-or-treat bowls, or cozy movie nights, this sweet and salty snack comes together in under 5 minutes and is always a crowd-pleaser.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups mini pretzel twists (about 200g)
  • 1 cup candy corn (about 170g)
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips (about 175g)
  • 1 cup dry roasted peanuts, unsalted or lightly salted (about 145g)
  • 1 cup yogurt-covered raisins (about 160g)

Instructions

  1. Prep your ingredients: Open all bags and measure out 2 cups pretzels, 1 cup candy corn, 1 cup chocolate chips, 1 cup peanuts, and 1 cup yogurt raisins. Set them within reach.
  2. Start with the pretzels: Pour the pretzels into a large mixing bowl first to create a bed for the other ingredients. Set aside any broken pieces.
  3. Add the peanuts: Pour the peanuts over the pretzels. Do not stir yet.
  4. Add the chocolate chips: Sprinkle the chocolate chips over the peanuts. If it’s a warm day, refrigerate the chips for 10 minutes first to prevent melting.
  5. Add the yogurt raisins: Scatter the yogurt raisins evenly over the mixture.
  6. Add the candy corn last: Place the candy corn on top to prevent crushing.
  7. Mix everything together: Using a wooden spoon or silicone spatula, fold gently from the bottom to the top about 10-12 times until evenly distributed. Do not stir in circles to avoid crushing ingredients.
  8. Check your work: Take a handful to ensure all ingredients are evenly distributed. Gently break apart any clumps with your fingers.
  9. Serve or store: Transfer to a serving bowl or airtight container. Serve immediately or store in a cool, dry place.

Notes

For best texture, use fresh pretzels and peanuts. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 weeks. For longer storage, freeze for up to 3 months. To keep pretzels crunchy, make no more than 3-4 days before serving. Double the batch for gatherings as it disappears quickly. For nut-free version, swap peanuts for roasted chickpeas or pumpkin seeds. For dairy-free, use dairy-free chocolate chips and omit yogurt raisins. For gluten-free, use gluten-free pretzels.
