Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound frozen pretzel bites (recommend Superpretzel or Dot’s)
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon coarse sea salt or pretzel salt
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon smoked paprika (optional)
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 6 ounces salami, thinly sliced
  • 6 ounces prosciutto, torn into pieces
  • 4 ounces sharp cheddar cheese, cubed
  • 4 ounces Gouda cheese, sliced
  • 1/2 cup mixed olives (green and kalamata)
  • 1/2 cup cherry tomatoes, halved
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • Fresh rosemary or thyme sprigs for garnish (optional)
  • Apple slices or pear slices (optional)
  • Dried figs or apricots (optional)
  • Roasted red peppers, sliced (optional)
  • Pickles or cornichons (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or foil.
  2. Spread the frozen pretzel bites in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet. Bake for 8-10 minutes, until golden brown and puffed.
  3. While the pretzels bake, make the cheese dip: In a small mixing bowl, combine softened cream cheese, shredded cheddar, sour cream, Dijon mustard, garlic powder, and smoked paprika. Stir until smooth. Add salt and pepper to taste.
  4. Remove the pretzel bites from the oven and immediately brush with melted butter. Sprinkle coarse sea salt over the top while still hot.
  5. Arrange your board: Place small bowls for cheese dip, olives, and honey on the board. Fan out salami in one corner and prosciutto in another. Arrange cubed cheddar and sliced Gouda in small piles.
  6. Add the pretzel bites in a large cluster near the cheese dip. Scatter cherry tomatoes, olives, and any other add-ins around the board. Garnish with fresh rosemary or thyme sprigs.
  7. Drizzle honey over the Gouda slices right before serving.
  8. Serve immediately while the pretzel bites are still warm.

Notes

For best results, keep pretzel bites warm in a 200°F oven until serving. The cheese dip can be made up to 2 days ahead. If making ahead, bake pretzel bites and assemble board just before serving. For dairy-free version, use dairy-free cream cheese and vegan cheddar. For gluten-free, use gluten-free pretzel bites.
